Who are we?

We are ASHLEY and ADU! We are best friends who have been together for over 25 years!
We met each other in 1994 while studying an MBA at University. Adu continued in the Telecomms arena and worked for several Cellular companies. He had a very busy corporate life with lots of travel to various countries in Africa. I worked in the Merchant Banking environment until we had children, a son Kyle and a daughter Samantha. Then I was a stay at home wife and mother, looking after our children. I also dabbled in a number of smaller business initiatives, video editing and house flipping.
In 2012 we decided that we wanted a more rural life and Adu took early retirement and we moved to a smallholding on a 5ha property in another province. Our children enjoyed their teenage years out of the big city! We loved this life! The animals, the space and the country life. We wanted to travel but our children were still at home.
The four of us did a 3 week housesit in France in December 2019 and then had a week in Paris over New Year. It was wonderful! The bug had bitten !!! We were even more convinced that we wanted to travel but knew we needed to wait another two years.
We have travelled extensively around South Africa. We have also explored some parts of the USA and Europe. We have always loved travelling, and experiencing new cultures but have never wanted to rush from one place to the next, rather to settle and really enjoy and see the local environment.
I started teaching English online to children in China. At the same time I kept an eye on destinations and housesits. It would be a huge change. We would need to be brave and adventurous!
We love travelling and now that our children are independent we want to slow explore TOGETHER. We love meeting new people and enjoying new experiences.
We are ready for our adventure to begin and hope you will enjoy reading about it
