Dinan is about an hour’s drive from where we are housesitting. It’s full of enchanting, beautiful cobbled alleys. There are plenty of half-timbered houses amongst its twisted higgedly-piggedly streets. It reminds me of Diagon Alley of Harry Potter fame 😊 The town deliberately limits traffic lights and street signs to keep the medieval feel.

There is also an ancient 14th century castle (shown below with the flag) and much of the town is surrounded by ramparts. What more could a town want? It is much loved by tourists!

We visited a lovely church, the Eglise St Malo de Dinan. It has some really lovely stained glass windows and I found the one which was dedicated to the young soldiers who had died in the war touching.

We also had a lovely lunch and I tried one of the specialities of the house which was tagliatelle with bacon and scallops. Sadly soon it was time to leave.
