Alfie, Harry and Archie

Our first housesit involved looking after three dogs in the Salies de Bearn area (France) for nearly three weeks.

We loved the dogs with their distinct personalities. Alfie the oldest, was very loving, loved getting  attention, and loved sitting next to you on the couch. Generally he was a bit slower but he totally surprised us on two occasions taking off after a deer. Thanks goodness he always returned.

Harry was the rocket dog, aged five. Boundless energy, able to run faster and with even more stamina than the Ridgeback we used to own.

Archie was only just over one year old, and loved chewing his bones, but otherwise was not very puppy like. He would bark at a high pitch when he could not keep up with Harry – almost a “wait for me please”. He also sprang up often in the nearby grasses like a springbok.

We loved looking after these dogs in this little piece of paradise in Southern France.
